Dedicating K

My Darling Cousin K and her family drove down from Cambridge to be with us this Sunday.  I was glad that we’d gone through the dedication with the boys, because I sure didn’t hear anything Pastor Ron said yesterday!   Baby K was air wresting to get out of our arms and get to her 2nd cousin, Baby B – who was smiling and cooing right back at her.

They will be great friends someday, right now they are a mutual admiration society, although K is used to being the baby, not playing gently near a baby!

Even with all that wrestling, when it was time to pass our K over to Pastor Ron, she nestled into his shoulder, and the whole church said, "Awwww."  When it was time to pass her back, she didn’t want to come!  Pastor enjoyed this…

On the health front, K is well, B still hasn’t gotten sick, I feel very stuffy in the head, DH is soldiering on at work, and M still has an upset tummy but now he has a fever too.  If M gets dehydrated, I’ll have to bring him to the emergency room, our doctor’s office is closed right now.  He seems more chipper today, ate some applesauce, and cheerios and drank two glasses.  I think he had a stomach bug, then caught DH’s cold, and is still having my allergies, and his stomach doesn’t like post nasal drip, but this long a spell of tummy trouble is freaky.  I have talked to my doctor, and my mother in law the RN, so we are on watchful waiting right now, but we aren’t being cavelier, accept maybe that we did bring him to church yesterday and let him breath on the other kids.

Back on Saturday, thinking through logistics, I was praying for the umph to get a picnic lunch together for after K’s service, for the visiting relatives, and any friends who might have dropped by for the dedication.  Stuffy heads make me have trouble thinking.  About an hour later, my across-the-street-neighbors began to parade up to our appartment house with unopened deli platters of finger roll sandwiches, two cakes, and chocolate eclairs.  Folks at their party hadn’t eaten as much as they thought they would.  DH added some paper plates, juice and chips, and we had our celebration lunch.

I’m thankful that the Lord (and my neighbors) do care about me, fuzzy brain and all.

DH said I need to be careful what I pray for.
