Yarn

DH had off from work on Friday.  I took the kids to co-op, and he stayed home to work on taxes.  In the middle of that, he found some checks from our insurance co, I’d misfiled as tax info.  When we got home, he handed me the checks, said he’d take the kids to the park, and suggested that I go to the yarn store….!

At the bank, I picked up a brochure about starting a business checking account.  The bank officer remembered me from last week and rejoiced with me that the cyber-fraud was fixed so quickly last week.

At Dee’s Nimble Needles, Dee and the ladies hanging out helped me choose a contemporary yarn to finish the Ivy Vine Mitten’s Design with.  I told her I felt like Rip Van knitter; since I was knitting avidly there has developed: superwash wool, magic loop knitting, Ravelry, shawl pins, and the whole emphasis on socks, especially toe up socks.  And I thought Elizabeth Zimmerman had exhausted the possibilities.

Saturday the family that co-ops with M for Jr. F.I.R.S.T. Lego League brought me 3 large garbage bags of wool to shift through that her mother was de-stashing.  I kept the fibers and colors that I liked, though there is more bulky and worsted weight yarn that I typically use.  I listed the yarns that still had tags on them on my Ravelry page.   If you want some, just let me know!  (If you are not on ravelry, just set up an account, it’s free.  I find it much more interesting than facebook.)

So, I’d prayed the other week for help in getting started with the pattern business, especially yarns to make samples with.  Not to trivialized God’s provision, but the timely kindness touched me.
