Retail therapy

DH let me go shopping today.

I picked up two skeins at Dee’s Nimble Needles – I am not so aware of yarn availability and DH accurately said that Dee would set me straight faster than Ravelry searches.  I’ll be duplicating some Nordic mittens for the lady who was B’s Wednesday night teacher for years and years, she must be left handed, that’s the mitten with the hole.

I bought a skirt length of brown wool at Jo-Ann’s, had lunch at La Penera, picked up school supplies at Staples, got the week’s groceries at Seabra, and listened to the Focus on the Family Radio Theater’s Screwtape as I gadded about.

While I was gone, DH took the kids to the library and hardware store, fixed a chair, and began to fix the coat peg board that is always pulling out of the plaster in the back hallway.

My Mom is digging out her angel food cake pan for me so I can bake the “pink cake,” for K’s birthday celebration tomorrow.  Her birthday is actually Monday, but her sense of time is fuzzy yet.  Mom’s birthday is tomorrow, and they are sharing that cake.  Mom’s new Uba tuba kitchen counter out gleamed her linoleum this morning, so she is waxing it now, but the cake pan shouldn’t get waxed in out of reach.

Right now, I really do believe that the longer, sunnier days will come, and even a thaw.

Thanks DH.
