Ambitions of the Day (with interruptions)

This is the peaceful time of day, when it’s easy to drift.  I’ve read my e-mail, checked facebook, had breakfast, B has checked our library accounts (I have one overdue, I’m two steps nearer to getting  a movie, he has an overdue also).  K is singing books in her room, M is cheerfully chatting to B as he now makes his toast.  K got into the brown sugar and turned her oatmeal dark brown, but I did clean that up.

So, time to set some goals.  B has a dental appointment at 10, he’ll need to walk or wheel, because DH needs the car before he’s likely to get back.  K just clarified (by banging on the art stuff cabinet drawer) that the ‘pencils’ she wanted were really stencils.  Oh yeah, goals.

I need to write a pattern revision for the sweater and get it e-mailed out – I found some glaring goofs once I crocheted the openwork part.  I need to get M’s lessons in, and make sure B is as close to finishing his independent work as he can get.  Most of my reference books have arrived, so I’ve been boning up on LaTex, WordPress, Inkscape, and best practices in knitted chart layout (that sounds more respectable than reading new books?  Maybe? *).  I also need to crochet like the wind, the sweater is supposed to be in the mail on Friday, which means it should be blocked by Thursday, and finished crocheted tomorrow.

I need to get clean so I can start M’s lessons in good time.

I need to learn to estimate like Scotty to get this magazine submission game down.

*I need to listen again to Susan Wise Bauer’s lecture on why I need to read books even is it’s flouting the efficiency culture (though she does mean serious literature, not technical manuals ;-)
