Afternoon of Lego Club

M asked me when we were leaving for the extra F.I.R.S.T. Lego League meeting, bouncing on his toes.  “Oh, about 2:30.” I drawled, thinking, I’d pack the overdue library books, and stop at Dunkin’ Doughnuts for coffee (we are out of coffee!) and pack the scrapbooking stuff, in case the guys wanted die cuts for their trifold board.

“Mom, isn’t it 2:40 now?”

B didn’t even have time to play the Dr. Who theme music – his usual contribution to getting us out the door on time.

Ellen and Terri introduced me to the other team members.  The boy’s skit was cute, they had photos developed, and images printed out.  But the captions and articles aren’t done yet, so they aren’t printed.  Ellen reminded me not to arrange the kid’s pieces for them, but they took our advice and left spaces for the stuff that isn’t done yet pinning the other parts so they can move them if necessary before pulling out the glue. They did use my die cut letters, and got mesmerized as I used my spellbinder machine to cut bullet points and decorations.

We got to feed T’s chickens, and run around their yard, Ellen gave us all snacks (she’s so organised, the apples and carrots were already sliced and in baggies, so were the gluten free crackers.)

After dinner tonight, M suggested putting dolce de leche on our vanilla ice cream.   Good idea M!
