Testing Week was Fun, but I’m glad it’s over

M was the only 4th grader, so he wound up with a tutor for a proctor – a wonderful cheerful woman who appreciated that he was clever and creative – just that a kid who’s reading clicked in 3 months ago isn’t going to be able to do much on  a standardized test, even if he can sound out the word physical.

B’s proctor apparently ended her erase all marks fully and completely, fill in all circles completely with a # 2 pencil speech with, “Are there any questions?”  B raised his hand. “What is the meaning of life?”

And I got along with the other parents in the gym, even when the big kids came in  to run off steam and we needed to  keep the littles on the side lines.  Greg the hs Dad even held a hockey clinic and taught K about how to move a puck and keep her stick below her waist.

Our friend had just returned from Florida Monday night and her Dad was admitted to the hospital Tuesday, so we borrowed her daughter as an overnight visitor.  I wound up with extra teenagers visiting that day, so I put out snacks, and got “The Court Jester” on Amazon as a download.  They were all so tired from testing, a movie and snacks were about all they could handle.

So, I now know that  teenaged girls do eat as much as teenaged boys.

Interesting week.

  1. I can attest to that fact that girls pack away as much food as the boys, at least my girls do.

  2. The Court Jester is one of my all time favorites!
I’m happy for you that testing is done. I’m always glad to get that requirement out of the way. And teens do pack it away. I’ve seen it happen.

Now that Marina has finished with classes she wanted me to let you know she is working on the mittens (finally!) It was a long hard semester. She’s afraid her notes won’t offer anything new since it took her so long to get started, but she did not forget and took up her needles as soon as she finished her finals!

    Peace and Laughter!

    • Oh, I didn’t realize there was a second paragraph!

Tell Marina I didn’t get much knitting done at the end of semesters either!
