Sure, as long as I’m appreciated

This morning Ben found an e-mail from a friend that he’s been trying to visit with –  and yes he is available to visit.  Tonight.

My house is not ready for company.  Not even 15 year old company.  I forgot to get it ready for company because I didn’t think anyone was coming over.  I sighed, and recited the tricky schedule shifts I went through this week – with very little to show for it, it was a week doomed to futility.

After my whine fest, Ben took a deep breath, sat up straight, and said, “None of that was your fault Mom, I’m sorry I didn’t keep track of it all, but I think we could get the house clean if we all worked on it together.”

Well, my attitude changed, if Ben can sit up straight, I can improvise. Even if cleaning today does means another day of homeschool in August.

So I called in M and K.  They were up for it, what’s one more day?

So, they are finding shoes at the moment so Ben can return the soon to be overdue library books and M and K can run in the park while I write a Target list, grocery list and to-does for house cleaning.

It actually feels kinda fun.  I can flex? Who knew.
