If Nature comes to you, study it.

This morning was cool and overcast, so my garden photographed well.  I love the shiny black mysterious buds.  They open to moody purple, which is not usually a color that I know what to do with, and if you bend near, they have a scent, pleasant, but not a usual one for flowers.

And this morning, an opossum traveled through my flowers.

It moved gimpy, as if it’s hind leg was injured, then crossed the road to my neighbor’s yard.  K took these photos, I ducked inside to Google rabies.  No, opossums don’t usually get rabid, and can show up in daylight.  Also be sure they are actually dead before you bury them.

This strawberry might be a bit too hopeful to set fruit while growing between the sidewalk and the retaining log.

Last week our friend Connie and her daughter brought Mom, K and I to Wicked Tulips Flower Farm.

I took several photos hopefully to help me figure out how to create some knitting motifs.  I get confused with 3D things getting turned into reliefs, then placed on a human body.  Some places make more sense than others.

K drew many pictures, then Connie took us to a GF bakery she’d found.  It was fun to pick a treat from the glass case, I haven’t done that since 2015.

Today on his lunch time walk, Dan photographed this snake

We tried to identify it by his description over the phone and my fingers flying on the computer.  we think it’s a Northern Water Snake.
