Instructions to Fall Christine from Spring Christine

Well, the calendar is not something I pay proper attention to, and I can’t time travel. But I can send myself a note:

Hey Chris! Transplant the grape hyacinth bulbs from the front of the rose bed to the edges of the peony  bed, the shade of purple goes better there.  Here is where you can find the hyacinth bulbs

Also, put the camassias in the rose bed near the miniature lilies, after you sort out the yellow ones for Mom and the red ones for you. That yellow green foliage might make them stand out, if the red leaves of the rose bush don’t do it.

And put the large clump of iris that are near the sage in the rose bed into the back of the peony bed where you can see them from the kitchen window.  Dig up all the purple/black giant iris that are on the edges of the rose bed and give them to Mrs G.

Also, add in some tall phlox (Mom might have extra?) to the rose bed, and get some verbena bonariensis seed in there too, because in late August, the only thing carrying the garden is the shape and color of the leaves.

Oh, and get zinnias this spring.

Any tips for me in making my calendar compelling and making everyone (including me) write on it, and read it?
