Pink

Well, there is something about sweet baby girls that makes people want to buy pink.

The nursery is turning Pink from all the generous gifts. I  am taking the chance to learn how to use the color.
I have never used pink much in my own cloths, craft projects, or gardening.  In fact, as a girl, I was pretty anti-pink, two very pink and purple dressers in Jr Church with rather catty personalities kind of prejudiced me on the subject, funny how early experience can trump a plain perception.  I do remember enjoying pink roses outside, and my grandma’s pink petunias.  So I thought I only liked pink in the sunshine, not indoors.  And of course, going way back to the ’80’s, Pink wasn’t my color, coral was.

Most infant manufacturers make the girl clothes with some pink in them, at least until 3 months.  Maybe to avoid embarrassment with people having to guess the gender of the baby – the littlest ones really don’t look too different until they get hair.

So far from my favorite pink compositions from the wrapping and clothes, I like pink and white, pink and any sort of green, especially moss and sage.  Brown outlines with pink filling look a bit like the old Winny the Pooh illustrations.

Now, if I can learn what to do with purple indoors…
