Posted on February 10, 2011 by Christinethecurious

B’s Spanish tutor (AKA Cousin K) wanted some face to face time, they usually work over Skype.  So she drove down from Cambridge, no small feat with deep snow and two children under 3. She sent him on a treasure Continue reading Treasure Hunt→

What I’m doing while not homeschooling

Posted on December 30, 2010 by Christinethecurious

I made myself some flannel pajama bottoms yesterday, rubbing off a pattern like Annie did for her kids, only I think I should not have used jeans as the base -they are a bit tight where I am fluffy.  I Continue reading What I’m doing while not homeschooling→

Christmas 2010 Pictures (with flashbacks)

Posted on December 28, 2010 by Christinethecurious

When I’m preparing for Christmas, I don’t often remember what it’s really like on the day, or how nice it is the week after with the kids playing their new games and lots of left overs making meal prep easy. Continue reading Christmas 2010 Pictures (with flashbacks)→

Boxing up After Christmas

Posted on December 27, 2010 by Christinethecurious

We are snowed in, Both Mom’s and DH’s works are opening at noon.  DH considered going in anyway to have the lab to himself and get some programming done without interruption, but after digging us out, he is over at Continue reading Boxing up After Christmas→

Mom-Mom in action (Thanksgiving 2010 vintage)

Posted on December 15, 2010 by Christinethecurious

On of my Mother-in-law’s great strengths is her ability to incorporate children into her activities.  K was curious about the biscuits Mom-Mom was kneeding, so she was folded right in. I have photos of each of the kids baking with Continue reading Mom-Mom in action (Thanksgiving 2010 vintage)→

Fragments

Posted on November 5, 2010 by Christinethecurious

The boys were able to earn $5 each today cleaning out the car – DH thought I was over generous on their pay since they helped their sister and I make the mess in the first place. Last night I Continue reading Fragments→

Evening Walk to the Chi-Cheemaun

Posted on July 28, 2010 by Christinethecurious

The Chi-Cheemaun is the ferry to Manitoulin Island, it mean Big Canoe in Ojibewa. Just as supper at Uncle D’s cabin was ending, DH would quickly read a passage from the through the Bible in one year book, sometimes just Continue reading Evening Walk to the Chi-Cheemaun→

My heart was in my throat, but we are fine now.

Posted on July 5, 2010 by Christinethecurious

Last night I was sliding K’s eggs onto her plate for dinner when she let out one of those cries after a deep breath that means major pain.  She’d been watching me fry her eggs from a chair, then she’d Continue reading My heart was in my throat, but we are fine now.→

Posted on July 1, 2010 by Christinethecurious

The Expo of the Senses had food to smell and taste, some craft tables to touch, whatever you call living sculptures to watch K and M decided that the war memorials were for climbing on. M got to see the Continue reading Expo of the Senses→

What a Lovely Wedding

Posted on June 24, 2010 by Christinethecurious

The reception was at Francis Farms in Rehoboth We had to stash the white chocolate lollypops away from K.  The tricksters eventually decorated the get-away car with them: they figured it would be non-damaging on the rental car. I hope Continue reading What a Lovely Wedding→

Daddad’s lawn tractor

Posted on June 10, 2010 by Christinethecurious

It’s fun to ride with Daddad when you are little Ride and steer when you are 7, But they give you the wheel when you are 12, and it’s cool, even when they threaten to put you to work.
