Has Anyone seen my (good) camera?

Blogging sure is more fun with pictures – I’ve misplaced the family camera.  I had it the Sunday before Christmas – but it has been lost since then.

DH thinks he might find it if he cleans out his desk – I don’t think I’d have put it there, I misplaced it during a we-just-got-home-I-have-to-cook-dinner-K-is-crying-M-is-bored-and-B-is-telling-jokes-I-don’t-understand-frenzy.

It could be anywhere.

But today is our official last day of holiday.  I was going to start lessons today, yesterday we Shopped for groceries, clothes for K and M (M put a knee through a pair of pants over Christmas, and K grew, though what a jump from 24months to 2T, things are huge on her!) a new calenders, a new potty for K (she was taking her clothes off and pointing at the toilet while visiting, I guess that’s a good sign, I feel doomed.)  We payed library fines, and got laundry quarters.  We actually got home from my in-laws with enough sunshine to unpack everything on Monday, so you’d think with all that errand running yesterday we’d be good to start – but something felt missing.

We had one big project that we just hadn’t got to: B wanted to bake croissants. I’ve never baked them – too much of a schedule.   But learning how to organize a schedule is a big goal for B, so we wrote out the steps of the recipe with times on it: our dough is rising for the first time in the fridge, the butter has been smashed into a 6 by 9 inch rectangle and is wrapped in parchment paper waiting it’s turn to meet the dough.  These pastries should be ready for the dinner table – I’m not getting up early to bake them for breakfast, B sure won’t either, he has to be dragged out of bed most days, since we haven’t found an alarm clock to survive falls from his bunk.

So, one more holiday day, one more day to think big picture thoughts while doing something different.  I haven’t yet pulled out my get organized book, but I have made M pick up his Bionicle bits from the floor – oh, can I vacuum, please, really? Oh the joy of a clean floor!

AND croissants for supper, that’s like desert first!
