Thaw

We had 5 books waiting for us at the library – so even though the kid’s noses are still drippy, we walked to the park and library.  Of course, the library opens at 11:30AM on Thursdays, so we had a little longer wait in the park than we’d expected.  The temperature was in the upper 40’s, I took off my hat and mittens.  The song birds were very active along the 10 Mile River, I watched a mocking bird and a sparrow take turns bathing.  The river’s edge was too deep, but they found a stick in mid stream that gave purchase.  The turn taking reminded me of M and K’s turn taking.

The un-melted snow and ice reflected such a lot of light, I wasn’t too upset when K asked me to take her home early (Momma, carry Me, I s-s-sad!) but I was glad to have seen those birds.

K is actually sleeping now, and it is naptime.
