Not Melted Yet- Who Flipped the Switch?

From the coldest May to Hazy Hot and Humid five days in a row.
We got the boys’ lessons in before it was hot, they are out playing in the shade now, this afternoon will be full of TV in front of the fan, maybe a toy bath for M, maybe I should get ambitious and make some finger paint for him for the afternoon.
Our car needed a special y-shaped tube for the manifold.  I wonder if the mouse nest in there from the Winter broke it?  This is an other unexpected expense.
Well, I’ve got my daily bread.  And peanut butter to go on it, or jelly, honey, butter, left over chicken…

My High School Friend A and her family came over.  Her husband M is a geologist, he told us what our favorite stone from Ontario is, and brought some thinly slices core samples for the boys to add to their nature stuff box.  Got to get a cabinet or something to display the stuff soon.  If we weren’t often visited by young toddlers, a nature table would be a great idea.
We grilled chicken, had black bean salad, 6 layer dip and corn chips, with home made ice cream sandwiches for desert.  I baked the chocolate cookie/cake for the bread of the sandwich from a Cooks Illustrated recipee the day before, before the heat wave hit.
